After an impressive few years performing with other acts, Jamie Bvllet has stepped out with a heart-warming indie rock debut, ‘Animals’.
The Perth singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist wears his heart on his sleeve in his music, writing about not giving up even when you’re at your lowest point.
He clarifies: “I actually wrote [‘Animals’] after bailing on a party one night and coming home to a completely empty, pitch-black house with pouring rain outside. I’d just been through a breakup and was battling mental health problems and remember feeling so alone. I just kept thinking ‘things are going to get better’.”
Though, the title came from a much nicer background… Jamie’s adopted kitten, Frankie.
“My parents had adopted a new kitten, Frankie, from the shelter about 2 weeks earlier and he lay on my bed the whole time.
I thought – why are animals so good to us? When it seems like when everything else was going wrong here was a little ray of sunshine to bring me light
While he’s trained as a classical violinist, Jamie boasts the true extent of his musical talent by writing and performing the track in its entirety.
